Step up this 2024 by trying something new. While the new year begins, a great resolution would be to take care of one’s health, both mind and body. Those who haven’t tried running events should definitely try it this 2024 especially with these upcoming running events. Among these marathon Philippines, it’s something that one should also prepare for.

So while being geared up in a condo in las pinas, start jogging or use of cardio machines like thread mill or walk pad if leaving your home is difficult. But for those that already planned on joining marathon Philippines, there are already upcoming running events that this article will be mentioning.

Step into these running events to not only try something new, but to challenge yourself into pushing oneself to the limit. Running is not only a great way to “clear” one’s thoughts, but also to remain a healthy, active lifestyle. Afterall, this 2024 is not only just about calm and serenity, but connection as well.

Upcoming running events in the Philippines

Solidarity Run

A running marathon that not only promotes unity but also aiding the community, Solidarity run will happen on January 14, 2024 at the scenic Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex in Pasay City. This running event is not just a competition of speed, but a marathon that will also aid those in remote, underserved communities.

Those that will join the Solidarity run will be supporting Revitalized-Pulis Sa Barangay (R-PSB) program and the mission of running event is to enhance the reach of essential services to Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas (GIDAS) and other isolated places affected by crime.

The race distances are 3k, 5k, and 10k, while others can join a 8-man team run. The registration fees are as follows:

  • 10K – P1000
  • 5K – P800
  • 3K – P700

Cebu Marathon

Conquer the colorful streets of Cebu this January 14, 2024 and immerse in an unforgettable racing experience. Those joining this running event will get to see the beauty around Cebu capital, sight-seeing, and the chance to look around the city.

The distances in the Cebu running event are 6k, 12k, 24k, and 42k. The registration fees are:

  • 42K – P1999
  • 24K – P1799
  • 12K – P7996
  • K – P799

Iloilo Dinagyang Marathon

Another unique running marathon, Iloilo Dinagyan Marathon heritage run offers it participating runners the change to delve into Iloilo City’s rich history. While being able to learn more about the city, Iloilo Dinagyang marathon will test the runners endurance with distance of 3K, 10K, 25K, and 42K.

The marathon is set on January 21, 2024 and here are the registration fees:

  • 3K – P599 | P799

Tinman 10

Celebrating its 10th anniversary as one of the well known running events in the Philippines northernmost area, Tri Ilocos Norte boasts its breathtaking views on their 113km route. Tinman is also commemorated for its contribution to sports tourism in the Philippines by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte and the Currimao municipality.

Apart from this, Tinman has earned the title for Best Sports Tourism Event (Domestic) last 2020 at the 4th Philippine Sports Tourism Awards. The registration fees are:

  • Sprint – P5400 | P6100
  • Standard – P6300 | P7000
  • 113 Distance – P7300 | P8000

711 Run 2024

Another anticipated running event in the Philippines this 2024 is the the 711 Run. runners can showcase their strength and skill in speed with match distances of 3K, 5K, 10K, 16K, 21K, 32K and 42K. This event promises a well-organized running course, courses that are beginner friendly, and those that will top the running event will earn medals and sponsorship for international events.

Those that are interested to join can register at any 7-11 convenient stores with the following registration fees:

  • 42K – P1500
  • 32K – P1200
  • 21K – P1000
  • 16K – P800
  • 10K Buddy – P1200
  • 10K – P700
  • 5K Buddy – P1000
  • 5K – P600

Bulacan Half Marathon

An event by Team Malofit and Pairfect Fit, this running marathon invites interested runners to join this exhilarating event. The race will happen on February 18, 2024 at Waltermart Plaridel in Bulacan, which offers distances of 21K, 10K, and 5K. The event became notable for rewarding winners with 5-inch medals last 2020 which abruptly sold-out tickets.

This year, the event elevated their prizes thanks to generous sponsors. They are now offering entitlements, exclusive giveaways, special promos, and a well-designed course. While the course will run from Waltermart Plaridel, traverse the Plaridel-Bustos road, make a U-turn at San Pedro Bustos in Bulacan, the race includes water and food along the way.

Registration fees are as follows:

  • 21K – P1,599
  • 10K – P1,199
  • 5K – P799

Manila International Marathon

Certified by the AIMS in the country this February 24, 2024, Manila Marathon will dedicated this years marathon for “Ayungin Shoal” West Philippines Sea which supports marines, navy, and Philippines coast guard. Here’s the registration fees for those interested to join this race for a purpose:

  • 5K (Php 1299) 
  • 10K (Php 1499)
  • 21K (Php 1799)
  • 42K (Php 2500)

Marilaque Marathon

Set to happen on February 25, 2024, get the chance to run with a breathtaking journey along the landscapes of Sierra Madre along the MARILAQUE highway in Tanay, Rizal. This marathon lets its runners enjoy the natural, beautiful view but also serve a purpose.

The event aims to support Rehoboth Sampaloc Ministries, which are children who are orphans, neglected, and surrendered to provide necessary support and care. The fees are as follows:

  • 5K – P750
  • 10K – P850
  • 15K – P950
  • 28K – P999

All Women’s Run Asia

Embrace the spirit of womanhood with All Women’s Run Asia that supports female strength and solidarity. Happening on March 03, 2024 at SM MOA Complex, this running event invites women to partake in a journey of empowerment, celebration, achievement, and personal growth. The race offers distances of 21k, 10k, 5k, 3k, and 500M.

Sagisag Half Marathon

A race that challenges their racers with strength and endurance, Sagisag half marathon encourages runners to stay active. This race will happen on June 26, 2022, at the CCP Complex, Pasay City. The distance are 3KM, 5KM, 10KM, and 21KM with fees of:

  • 21KM – P1950
  • 10KM – P1450
  • 5KM – P950
  • 3KM – P950

Takeaway

Regardless of what the new year’s resolution may be, staying physically active and taking part with supporting the local community is a resolution that everyone should take part in. No matter if the goal is to try something new, these running events not only encourage a healthier 2024, but to challenge oneself to reach new limits.
