Movies That Can Influence Your Perspective in Life

In this world of distractions, we are often clouded by the things that are keeping us from making our best choices. Movies can have an impact on us in several ways. Some movies can even change our perception of the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Movies are such a great way to learn and gain new insights into life. Whether you’re trying to get up early in the morning or someone who still can’t seem to fall asleep despite your best efforts, there’s no doubt that watching movies will help your mood and outlook on life. We’ve compiled a list of movies that can have a profound impact on your perspective on life. Maybe they’ll even help you get rid of some bad habits, too!

Inspiring movies that can influence your outlook on life

1. The Pursuit of Happyness

Chris Gardner, a single father, struggles with quite a number of obstacles in life (Will Smith). He and his little son (Jaden Christopher Syre Smith) are kicked out of their apartment and left without a place to go. Chris eventually finds work as an intern at a renowned brokerage business, but the position is unpaid. Chris fights to build a better life for himself and his son despite the fact that they must live in homeless shelters and face many difficult challenges along the way.

A true story, “Pursuit of Happiness” is a heartwarming and, more importantly, an incredibly inspiring story about family, tenacity, and never giving up on your dreams. It helps movie watchers realize that success comes with a price that we must pay through hard work and determination. It reminds us that you are the master of your own life and that everything is earned.

2. Whiplash

Young jazz drummer Andrew Neiman (Miles Teller) is driven to succeed at his prestigious music institution. Andrew is discovered by Terence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), a professor infamous for his fearsome teaching techniques, who adds the aspiring drummer to the premier jazz group, forever altering the young man’s life. But when his merciless teacher pushes him to the limit of his talent and his sanity, Andrew’s drive to reach perfection gradually turns into an addiction.

The main message of this film is not to allow yourself to be crushed by the weight of a poor evaluation from anyone. People look up to successful people for helpful advice, but are all of those strategies applicable to each and every one of us? Definitely not. Always value what you think of yourself before relying on anyone’s validation. After all, you are your most important supporter.

3. Dead Poets Society

John Keating (Robin Williams), a brand-new English teacher, is welcomed to an all-boys preparatory school noted for its long-standing traditions and demanding standards. He approaches his students in an unconventional way because they are under a lot of pressure from their parents and the school. Students Todd Anderson (Ethan Hawke), Neil Perry (Robert Sean Leonard), and others learn to come out of their shells, pursue their aspirations, and seize the day under Keating’s guidance.

“No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world.” In the movie, Mr. Keating strives to instill in his students his love of books and poetry. He engages his students in his passion and instills in them the belief that their thoughts and words matter rather than simply regurgitating stale, worn-out lessons. There is power in believing in your hopes and dreams regardless of what anybody says. Follow your true heart’s desire is one of the biggest takeaways in this classic film.

4. Million Dollar Baby

Clint Eastwood plays the seasoned Los Angeles boxing trainer Frankie Dunn, who keeps practically everyone at a distance save from his longtime buddy and business partner Eddie “Scrap Iron” Dupris (Morgan Freeman). He is hesitant to work with Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), a transplant from working-class Missouri when she shows up at Frankie’s gym seeking his advice. He eventually gives in, and the two develop a strong friendship that will forever transform them both.

Eddie Scrap once said, “People die every day, Frankie – moppin’ floors, washin’ dishes and you know their last thought is? I never got my shot. Because of you, Maggie got her shot. If she dies today that you know what her last thought would be? I think I did it all right.”

Many people have become so engrossed in their regular daily activities that they have forgotten why they are here. If you still remember yours and you still have a chance, grab that chance and do something about it. This classic 2004 film is definitely a film worth watching.

5. Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump, a simpleminded character played by Tom Hanks, has never considered himself to be less able, and his life is anything but restricted thanks to his loving mother, played by Sally Field. Forrest inspires others with his innocent optimism, whether he is leading a shrimp boat, fighting in Vietnam, or dominating the field as a college football standout. However, Forrest’s childhood sweetheart, the troubled Jenny, maybe the one person he cares about most who will be the most difficult to save (Robin Wright).

Forrest Gump isn’t afraid to show others that he cares. He is not hesitant to love completely, deeply. He is not afraid of being hurt, nor does he consider harming those who harm him. He simply loves in the purest sense possible.

He shows us how to love without anticipating anything in return. It is a heartwarming story that reminds us that giving is the essence of love.

6. Yes Man

With his destructive habits, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) is stuck in a rut. Then he attends a self-help session where he discovers how to harness the power of yes. He encounters all kinds of great and life-changing events as a result of choosing the positive; he is promoted at work and even starts dating again. However, Carl discovers that having too much of anything, even wonderful thoughts is not always beneficial.

Carl was presented with numerous opportunities on various occasions, but he politely declined each one by replying “No.” He was quite skilled at passing up possibilities. He had some extremely valuable opportunities that could have led to his promotion at a very young age. He is now in a position where there can be no growth because of the word “no.”

If we continue to set aside chances as they present themselves, there will be no personal growth. Your life may alter if you accept some of the opportunities and seize them. You can start making little changes right away by allowing your child to go on a picnic at the weekend. It might be anything, but the important thing to keep in mind is that if you seize opportunities, your life will improve.
