How do you get to the south?

Popular highways

Popular highways

South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)

A highway or expressway you can use to get to the South would be the South Luzon Expressway. This highway that was first built in 1960 links Metro Manila to the CALABARZON region. Previously named South Superhighway, this highway has a total length of 51 kilometers and it starts from Paco District in Quirino Avenue and gives you access to the cities in Manila such as Makati and Pasay. This expressway also goes through certain municipalities in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, and more. It’s a perfect option for going to and from the south of Luzon and Manila.

Manila Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX)

The Manila-Cavite expressway or CAVITEX is about 14 kilometers long and starts at a traffic light intersection with NAIA Road and Roxas Boulevard. This highway gives you access to different areas in Cavite such as Bacoor. Going to Cavite from Manila and vice versa becomes easy because of this expressway. But that’s not all. There are also plans to develop this expressway to give motorists easy access to several areas in the south.

Metro Manila Skyway

Fun fact, this skyway has one of the longest flyovers in the world. This highway spans around 18.68 kilometers. It connects the North Luzon Expressway to the South Luzon Expressway and vice versa. This highway is also the first fully grade-separated highway in the Philippines. Because of this, it helps other expressways relieve heavy traffic. An example would be SLEX. The Metro Manila Skyway most definitely makes it on our list of popular highways you can use to get to and from Manila and the south of Luzon.

Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX)

This is the last but not the least expressway on the list. This expressway, commonly known as MCX, is the shortest in the Philippines with a length of 4 kilometers. However, this expressway is access-controlled meaning there is a toll. It connects the southern part of Cavite to Muntinlupa which is a city in Metro Manila. This is a great option for getting to your destination fast, quickly, and easily.

Other Options

Other Options

While the aforementioned highways and expressways to get to the south are very acceptable, there are times when we do not have vehicles available for our personal use. That’s when buses come in. You can take the bus to get to Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, or Quezon from Manila and vice versa. It’s a great and affordable way to get to and from different places. The bus usually costs around PHP 92 to PHP 98 although that can change. The night bus typically costs around PHP 70 to PHP 100.

Taking a taxi is another great alternative to using a personal car. Although, this does cost far more than taking the bus. The cost for a taxi would typically be around PHP 290 to PHP 360 although different taxi companies charge different rates. There are tons of different ways to get to and from Manila and the south of Luzon. Because the government keeps developing new infrastructure and highways, you have easy access to different areas in Luzon. That is most definitely considered a great benefit.

Finding a luxury home is a tedious task. Looking at different homes is the bread and butter of the process but, it’s not the only part. There’s paperwork and the matter of finding the perfect location for your house. The perfect location must be close to your job, close to your child’s school but it must also be able to offer you the quiet you crave when you’re stressed out.
