Health really is really important nowadays. Maintaining a healthy body as well as a sound mind should be the main goal for every person in the world right now.

What exactly is a Keto Diet? How does it help lose weight?

A Ketogenic Diet (keto for short) is a low-carb, high-fat diet. This diet entails a drastic reduction of carbohydrates intake and replacing it with fats. As such, this induces the body to enter a metabolic state known as ketosis.

Ketosis is when the body uses the stored fat as the energy source instead of sugar. Normally, the body uses sugar as the main source of energy. With the absence of carbohydrates which is the source of sugar, the body resorts to breaking down the fats.

Why is the Ketogenic Diet Popular?

The Keto Diet has been endorsed by a lot of celebrities and has been boosted well on social media. A diet that boasts of losing weight by eating more bacon instead of less makes it highly attractive. Specially if you are a person who likes bacon but cant imagine a morning in your Crown Asia home without these tasty breakfast treat.

On top of that, results are really fast. A body can enter the state of ketosis in as short as two days of carb restriction. Therefore, significant weight-loss may be experienced as early as one week into the diet.

The promise of weight loss in one week by eating more bacon is too hard to pass for most people. Specially when everyone knows that bacon and other carb substitutes are a hard pass for most dietary routines.
