Discover the Different Types of Water Heaters

By: Marie Claire Lagrisola

Aside from the hugs you get from your children, the kisses from your spouse, the yummy goodness of morning coffee, and sinigang for dinner, you may have been craving for a different type of warmth in your house and lot, especially during this cold season of December. This kind of yearning may often be felt during a cold shower even on a very chilly night of the Christmas season. Perhaps it is time for you and your family to install a water heater in that house and lot for sale!

Why Hot Water?

There are actually many benefits to choosing to not shower with cold water. Aside from energy efficiency, having hot showers often in a house and lot for sale can help open your pores and by doing so, let out the toxins that are trapped in your body. Additionally, warm water can result in fresher and more hydrated skin.

To add, it is very bad for the human body to take a cold shower while sick. Sometimes, being exposed to cold spaces and taking showers with cold water often may be the reason why a lot of people get sick. This is why it does not hurt to have the option of having hot showers, especially during cold seasons like the Ber months.

There Is More to a Water Heater. For One, Its Type

With that, from solar water heaters, tankless water heaters, condensing water heaters, condensing tankless water heaters, electric water heaters, conventional water heaters, and their conventional storage water heaters counterparts, here are the different types of water heaters and their benefits for you to choose from to help you live a healthier life and have a longer life expectancy:

Conventional water heaters with a tank

According to the experts and your local hardware store, this is the water heater style you are most familiar with because it is the most used one.

With two valves, specifically the pressure control valve and the temperature control valve, the latter one opens to moderate temperature and releases heat when the water reaches a temperature of over 120 degrees.

Conventional heaters have a tank that holds water that needs to be heated. This entails that the capacity and the size of the tank determine how much hot water you can immediately have. When the water warms up, it remains at that hot temperature until it is needed when the tank is insulated.

The benefits of this type of water heater are that not only it is the most practical one, but it is also the easiest one to install in your house and lot for sale. This is a huge plus, especially if this is your first time purchasing a water heater tank.

What are the benefits of this style of water heater?

This conventional style of water heater is typically the most affordable style and it is pretty easy to install, as well. What are the things to look out for in this demand-type water heater, the conventional water heaters storage tank?

First off, it can only hold a limited amount of water at a time. Therefore, based on the capacity of your conventional storage-tank water heater, say a 30-gallon tank, you only have 30 gallons of water before you ran out of warm water. Once you have used it all up, it might take more than an hour for the new water to heat up once you have refilled the conventional storage tank water.

Tankless water heaters

Also known as the on-demand water heater, this tankless water heater showcases modern technology and can provide unlimited hot water for you and your family. The newest and most improved among the other types of water heaters, this particular heat pump has no tank as you can tell by its name.

In replace of a tank, this on-demand water heater has super-heated coils that do both jobs: fill the machine with water and heat it up as soon as you need hot water. If you have a large family with members that all like to shower with hot water, then this will be the tankless water heater for you. Just make sure that your tankless water heaters fit the size of your family because they may unfortunately not be able to keep up with the demand. The water will then remain lukewarm or cold beating the purpose of purchasing a water heater.

Aside from that con, because the machine is continuously working on getting unlimited hot water, expect your electric bill to be higher compared to before. But at least you are saved from doing the refilling of water because that task is quite tedious. It is hard to carry and pour several gallons into something.

Heat Pump Water Heater

If ever you want to live a more environmental-friendly lifestyle, perhaps you can opt for the heat pump water heater because out of all the different types of water heaters, this one does not necessarily generate heat.

Also known as the hybrid water heater, compared to the other types of water heaters, this has a unique way of performing its job because it uses the heat in the air and in the ground in heating water. It is like natural gas. The only time this type of electric heater will use electricity is when it moves the heat from the air or the ground. This saves you a lot from the electricity bills because using electricity to generate heat directly costs a lot. The way that it could use 60 percent less than other types of water heaters do, this is totally a save for your wallet and for the environment.

The only con here is that if the ground and the air are cold, your heat pump water heater may not be able to do its job well.

Indeed, purchasing a water heater machine is quite an interesting ride to delve into but trust us, it is totally worth it. Warm baths are on a whole other level of their own.
