5 Adventures to Try with Your Kids On The Weekend

There’s nothing better than bonding over a shared adventure and fun family activities with the people you love and those closest to your heart!

Spending time with your kids is one of the purest joys of being a parent. Sometimes, it can be a little tricky keeping your kids engaged on the weekend. But there are tons of fun things to do at home in your newly moved in house and lot for sale or in the city which are exciting, educational, and entertaining. You can even look up online for some fun activities that the whole family can enjoy like going outside to catch fireflies, having a pillow fight or maybe enjoying the the breeze by kite flying.

Setting aside special time with your children is said to increase their trust in you as their parent, adding to the relational and emotional bonds these forges. It is also a great time to learn more about them, their likes, personality, and anything that you might not know because not all time you are with them. Create your next family weekend itinerary with some of these suggestions which your kids will be sure to remember for years.

Take a rest from having your kids play board games, take them outside to the local park or try some of these fun games and fun family activity over the weekend:

Night Time Exploration

Take your kids to your nearest park or local playground with a flashlight after sunset and see what you can find. It’s a fun activity to get a quick bit of exercise in, and in the evening, it will be extra exciting and a great fun event both of you will enjoy. On a clear evening, you may even be able to get a view of the night sky full of stars. Have a telescope handy to make your exploration of the great outdoors even more educational for the youngsters’ curious minds.

You can even do this right in the backyard of your newly purchased house and lot for sale. Just set up a pick nick mat or a huge blanket, prepare a quick meal and you will surely enjoy your precious time with your kids.

Build a Pillow Fort (so much fun when done with the whole family)

Have your very own slumber party right at home. This little jam packed adventure will feel just as exciting as camping, without the trouble of leaving the city or your newly moved in house and lot for sale. Take your mattresses and sleeping bags out into the family room and put on a movie that everyone will enjoy. Stock up on plenty of fun (and healthy!) treats at your nearest AllHome, too.

You can make this more fun by playing pretend like maybe the fort is a castle and you and your kids are the royal family. Make it more creative by having them design the pillow fort and making the interiors feel more like a regular home.

Go on a Field Trip

Your kids may only get to go on educational tours once a year at school, but with fun parents like you, field trips can happen so much more often and it makes sense to do one occasionally so that they learn while having fun. Treat your children to a day at the National Museum of Natural History—a beautiful experience about the origins of people and the environment. This will be a great way to show them just how important it is to protect nature and all of the creatures that we share the earth with.

There are a lot of educational tourist spots where you can take your kids in on a tour. There are a lot of museums in Manila or maybe look up online to see if there is one near your new house and lot for sale purchase. Zoos, aquariums, and planetariums are also a good option if you want to spend time with them while they are learning.

If you cannot find time to travel and book a ticket to visit one of these places there are virtual museums that you and your kids can try. With these you can even visit museums overseas without living the comforts of your home!

Organize a Home Talent Show

Set the stage for your kids’ development by having a talent show at home. This is a great way to show them that it’s okay to be a beginner at doing something they love, like singing or dancing. What’s important is that you get in on the fun too! Play them a song on the guitar or show them a picture that you made. It doesn’t have to be great, but your kids will love seeing you can be creative too.

You and your kids can even prepare the snacks by looking at simple recipes to prepare. This is also a learning experience for older children or older kids to know some basic snacks that they can prepare when you are out on a sunny day to work.

You can even make it more special by inviting friends and family over to watch their performance. You can also invite other parents to have a collaborative home talent show as a friendly competition among the kids at your home where their kids can also showcase what they are really good at. This can serve as a place for them to know more about themselves and a good place for the parents to bond and catch up!

Make a Scavenger Hunt

Looking for Easter Eggs at home or in the garden is one of the most exciting childhood activities. But who says we need to wait until after Holy Week? Pick up some treats at your nearest AllDay Supermarket or shopping center and get hiding. After a lovely Sunday breakfast at home, tell the kids that you’ve got some surprises for them to find. It’ll be just like a game of hide-and-seek but with exciting prizes and wonderful memories made.

This is a good activity to spice up your normal weekends together! This is an exciting activity and you can even spice this up by adding some educational information as clues or maybe some obstacle course on their way to their next stage in their scavenger hunt.

There are other things you can do that are not mentioned above like setting up a fun family movie night, a dance party, an indoor treasure hunt, setting up a lemonade stand, visiting a trampoline park, having a tea party, doing a science experiment and other outdoor activities you can do in your own backyard.

Creating paper airplanes, going for a bike ride, visiting an amusement park, teaching them to play games from your childhood, play dress, creating craft projects and maybe visiting a local obstacle course is also a great idea for fun filled activities.

As you can see, spending time with your kids can be done in fun things and creative ways. Other things that are not listed above are doing house chores in a fun way, going on a quick weekend hike, spending the day at the beach, having a father-son time by watching a sporting event or a mother-daughter time by pampering yourselves and going on a shopping spree at the nearest mall in your newly moved in house and lot for sale.

Kids bring so much joy into the home, and deserve to have many good memories with the people they love. Try out these adventures next weekend or think of other creative ways to enjoy and make your home a brighter place the entire day. Everyone deserves a beautiful life. Create the best memories with your kids now.
